Brewer Park Pool
Keeping in mind the sesquicentennial yea of Ottawa, design a swimming pool recreation center for Brewer Park in the community of Old Ottawa South. The design would replace the current pool that was built in the mid 1920s. Staying true to the values of the community, the design focuses on the idea of connectivity. The grand entrance, featuring a long sloping ramp and bleacher-like inset seating, solidifies this idea with visitors sight-lines extending into the pool-area to give the sense of inclusiveness to both those using the pool area and those occupying the dry areas of the building. A organic, free-flowing water-like shapes provide a unified atmosphere to the building and its use.
